Student Accommodation at Makerere University-Main Campus

Development of additional student accommodation on campus with a target of 10,000 beds and total build area 80,000 SQM. This is to be on four different sites totaling to approximately 16 acres.

Visionis to design elegant highly attractive student accommodation with consideration of affordability at the different levels. Hostels are envisaged to offer inbuilt canteen, restaurants, laundry, surface parking among others.

University Teaching Hospital at Katalemwa

Mak Holdings intends to establish a Teaching Hospital. This Project envisages the undertaking a 200-bed Upper Market Modern University Teaching Hospitalat Katalemwa site occupying approximately 30 acres.

Plan: The facility will include out-patient and in-patient services, with modern facilities for all major hospital operations.It will also comprise of staff houses, nursery school, recreational facilities and commercial services.

Convention Centre and Hotel at Makerere University Main Campus

This project envisages the development of a convention centre together with associated accommodation facilities within Makerere University

Plot coverage: 5.29 acres.

Vision: To design a 150 bed Three-Star hotel, a convention center, lettable office space, an events garden, surface and basement parking for 60 and 105 cars respectively.

Building Planning:  The proposed development will comprise of a cluster of three semi-detached building blocks with the tallest bearing a maximum of 6 stories and 3 levels of basement parking. 

Built-area in numbers: Approximately 17,250sqm of guestroom, guest/public user entertainment and gathering facilities, staff service areas, 1855sqm convention center auditorium, 1,000sqm of lettable office space, 288sqm organic shaped outdoor swimming pool, 273sqm steakhouse & 120sqm M&F pool changing rooms, and 6443sqm of basement parking. Total built-area 27,702sqm

Project 1: Hotel connecting Convention Centre

Commercial Property Re-Development at Bwaise

This Project envisages undertaking commercial property development comprising of a commercial centre and retail propertiesin this busy commercial area on approximately 4.9 acres developed with the University Junior Staff Quarters. These comprises of tenement blocks that appear considerably dilapidated and unsafe for residential accommodation evidenced by the asbestos roofing due for demolition and offering limited value addition to the site.

Mixed-Use Development at Makerere-Kubiri

This Project envisages the undertaking commercial property development comprising the development of a commercial centre, shopping and retail properties.

The site occupies approximately 8 acres developed into a community School located in a neighborhood characterized by middle to low income commercial developments along with several hostel developments near Makerere University and in a largely poorly planned locale. The subject properties comprise adjoined plots offering a unique advantage of quantum size and aerial view unrivalled in the immediate neighborhood and ideal for commercial multipurpose use.
